The Gospel is the good news that has radically changed our lives and our hope and prayer is that it may change yours as well.  We understand the Scripture to teach that the purpose of the church is to glorify God by proclaiming this Gospel with our mouths and displaying this Gospel with our lives.

God, the Righteous and Perfect Self-Sufficient One created all that exists.  He owns it and deserves the love, the worship, and the service that the creation gives.  Yet every human being who has ever lived, save one, has chosen to ignore God, to refuse to give thanks, to refuse to love and worship, and to refuse to enjoy and delight in Him.  The consequence of such rebellion and arrogance is death, for the rich and poor, for the young and old, for the famous and unknown, for the moral and immoral.  This choosing to live life according to your standards, what is right in your own eyes is sin and the penalty for such sin is death, separation from life, which amounts to an eternal separation from God who is the source of life.  Yet we know that God is also loving, compassionate, merciful, and gracious.

Because of His great love He sent His only begotten Son, God in human flesh, to carry the weight of our sin upon Himself and die as a substitutionary sacrifice.  He took our sin as if it were His own and suffered the full wrath and judgment of God for that sin on our behalf.  God the Father then raised Him back to life, verifying that the payment was made and accepted.  He further transferred Jesus’ righteous perfection, His innocence before God, to our account so that as we stand before God we are clothed with Christ’s righteousness, His perfection which is required for living in the presence of God.  This message is truly good news for those who both repent of their sin and trust in Christ alone for the gift of forgiveness and perfect righteousness.

Will you repent of your sins and trust in Christ alone? Will you receive eternal life today?
